Wrist-Mounted Coil Gun
Whenever I go over to my best friend’s place, we always try something new, whether it be trying to build shock devices to shock each other, making ice cream in the summer, or trying to build coil guns. We managed to shoot nails a couple inches, but beyond that, our coil guns were pretty sad.
At the following hackathon, I tried building the coil gun again, and to my surprise, it shot much farther and with significantly more energy than the ones I built at my friend’s place. After running more tests and performing some calculations, I figured out why it was more powerful (I was using different capacitors). I then put all of the electronics into a 3D printed case, and strapped it to my wrist.
