3D Printing

Back in 2010, my grandfather and my father took me to see a presentation by Makerbot, showing off their Cupcake CNC. This was my first time seeing any sort of 3D printing, but as amazing as it was, this memory stayed just that: a distant memory.

Fast forward a couple years, I started using 3D printers for my own personal use in high school. I worked at a local private school, and they had a Makerbot Replicator 2, so they let me use it whenever I wanted.

Once I left high school, I finally decided to buy my own. After many weeks of research, I saw a video by Maker’s Muse about the Wanhao Duplicator i3 Plus, and I immediately knew that this was the printer for me. I ordered it, and after a couple months of delays, back and forth emails, my printer finally came in the mail. The company even gave me a 1kg roll of filament as compensation for my delayed shipment.

Ever since I got my printer in 2016, it’s been running almost constantly, printing cases for my projects, replacement parts for things broken at home, gifts for friends and family, and small little things that make my life just a little bit easier.

Below are a couple of my recent 3D prints. These projects are of my own design, printed by my own Wanhao Duplicator i3 Plus.
